National Unity Day was celebrated in Kamrup district today on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who made outstanding contributions to the unity and integrity of the nation. On the occasion, today at Integrated District Office, Kamrup complex, marked the National Unity Day by lighting lanterns and laying flowers at the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The District Commissioner, Kamrup Shri Deba Kumar Mishra, ACS read out a pledge along with other officials present to strengthen the unity and integrity of the country in conjunction with the National Unity Day.
In this connection, a Run for Unity was organised by District Administration on 29th October which was was attended by about 300 participants including students from various schools, athletes, youths and police personnel.
